Mini Bouquet PAinting
Don't forget a little painting to remember your bridal bouquet! These little acrylic paintings are 8"x8" on cradled gessobord. If you love floral paintings and meaningful hand crafted artwork, feel free to send me a few photos of your bouquet! Each bouquet is so different and a very special memory. These are impressionist paintings that would work well as an accent piece, or part of a gallery wall.
Abstract
My abstract work is usually large-scale, and full of life and feeling. Based in nature, and inspired by life, I use color, movement, shading, line, value, contrast, composition, and the element of surprise and whimsy to create a painting that is pleasing to the eye.
Water series
The ocean is my favorite place to be. The movement of water, sound of seagulls, the salt air, feet in the sand, chair by the water, book in hand is my happy spot! (and don't forget lunch in the cooler!)
Lately I've been interested in capturing reflections on water and the interplay between water, earth and sky.
Favorite places:
Barn Island in Stonington has lovely, marshy areas where you can observe all sorts of life in this interesting ecosystem! I have some delightful memories of hiking there with friends, observing nature's treasures, and finding joy in the beauty there!
The Breachway in Misquamicut is where I got engaged, and I also had maternity photos done there, so its a special place for me! Jumping from rock to rock, watching the fishermen, the shallow tidal pools, and the sound of the water crashing on the rocks adds to the overwhelmingly beautiful ambiance.
I've been to many other beaches in the world, some of which were exquisite, but these two places have special meaning to me.
